Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

收到今年第一張紙本耶誕卡

不知道從什麼時候起，
就不曾再寄出手寫的耶誕賀卡了.....
隨著網路技術的日漸普級....
再加上自己學的又是計算機科學，
以網路做為訊息交換的工具自然理所當然的事....
(事實上，要找我，透過通訊軟體可能比透過手機來得快)

所以....不知從何時起......
不再每年親手寫一張張生日卡給我身邊的好友....
不再於每年耶誕節前夕到書局為每位好友挑一張適合他的賀卡，
在幾年前，
還會發封「電子賀卡」給其他人
最近這幾年，甚至連電子賀卡都鮮少人在用了
大概只剩下各種電子商務廠商寄發的「置入性行銷兼沒有感情口吻賀詞」的賀卡吧 XD

科技除了來自於人性，
也改變了人性.....

今年算是很特殊的一年，
因為Ana，帶給我許多不一樣的火花.....
由於與Ana連繫只能透過展望會
無法用E-mail、msn、Blog.....等「e化」的連絡方法，
所以一切又都回歸到最原始的手寫信件方式，
由於透過展望會翻譯(每封信要翻兩次)，轉信...
處理的時間通常都會拉得很長....

例如今年的耶誕卡或耶誕禮物，
展望會是從9月中旬就開始收件，
(不過在台灣，9月中旬的時候實在很難買到耶誕卡 ~_~"
所以跑了好幾家書局，終於挑到一張「偽」耶誕卡 XD )

這種方法雖然原始且沒有效率
但信件拿在手上的感覺卻是異常的真實.....
我想這大概也是電子書一直很難推得很好的原因吧....
畢竟數位內容也許可以在短時間內創造虛擬實境、創造無限想像的空間，
但電源關閉那麼剎那....
它終究還是一台冷冰冰的機器，
機器可以讓內容表現到完美，
但少了個性、少了錯誤、少了那麼一點點「人味」...

收到來自Ana的信件、卡片，
雖然沒有如數位訊息般工整的文字排版，
沒有表情符號、沒有精采的動畫，
但一個個用手寫上去的寫，畫出來的畫，
卻比工整卻冰冷的新細明體、表情符號來得精采。

我們在追求進步、領先、富有的時候，
往往忽略了，很多時候我們可能其實失去了更多
當然，這樣的說法會有很多在網路世代長大的人不服或無法接受
因為這種感覺是需要去類比的，
如果沒有經歷那個手寫信件的時代，可能很難有這樣的感受吧！ :P

剛才在綠光看到的消息
人間條件2--她與她生命中的男人們將在 2008.2.28-3.1 在國家戲劇院第二度加演，
前兩次都錯過的，這次不要再錯過了唷!!

另外，看過人間條件3的人
可以在 2008.1.1-1/31憑人間條件3的票根
至國家戲劇院、國家音樂廳售票處可以9折購票

兩廳院購票系統也開放購買了喔
想要搶好位置的，趕快下手吧 :P

http://zh.uncyclopedia.info版本的偽基又可以使用了(發表此文時該版本是連不上的)
這個版本有「公主症候群」這個條目 XD

不小心在奇摩新聞看到一則由中廣發佈的新聞，
標題是「年近30啃老族、公主病暴增 台大延畢最嚴重」，
這則新聞是引用Career的一篇文章「公主病︰年輕粉領族流行病？」
Career的文章對「公主病」這個名詞引用來自「"偽"基百科」的解釋，
然而中廣抄人家的文章也就算了，連抄都抄錯XD

事實上，偽基百科經過幾次的變革，目前(2007-12-14)連得上的版本是架在Wikia上的版本
這個版本並沒有「公主病」這個詞條 ~_~"
(當然，維基百科也沒有)

Career當初引用的是位址在http://zh.uncyclopedia.info的版本，
那時的確有該詞條
但目前的偽基百科並不是當初Career時的那個版本 XD
當然「公主病」這個詞條也不存在 XD
所以中廣這則新聞應該算是烏龍的新聞吧，

這則新聞之所以引起我的注意
不是文章裡探討的社會現像
而是他所引用的內容

某些腦殘女性自以為是公主，應該受到公主般的待遇，在家多半備受呵護，以為全天下男人也應這樣對她們，好發族群是三十歲以下的女性

身為維基百科的使用者
很明顯的這樣的內容對百科而言是中立性不足，而且沒有查證的內容
本來是想在百科裡挖出這篇辭條好好的看看是否要修正或提出刪除請求
結果卻是發現了這個大烏龍 XD

各位記者們，請認真的表現你們的專業啊!!
要讓別人尊敬你的職業，請先讓自己夠專業吧!

這才是民主啊!!!!!!!!.......

這幾天藍綠又為了中正廟(ps1)的事吵翻了天,
兩派的人都打著民意、民主的旗幟在捍衛自己的選舉利益
(嗯~官方說法是為了維護古蹟啦，不過話說回來，你有看過那麼新的古蹟嗎？)
樂生也是古蹟啊，為什麼這些政客們反而不是那麼關心?

在所謂XXX 2.0時代(XXX可以代入任何名詞)
還是因為由大家來決定要放什麼比較2.0吧?
也比較有符合這些政客們口中的「民主」吧?

比起要保留「大中至正」或是要放上「民主廣場」
不如聽聽最近幾天網友們的創意(1), (2), (3)，
也許可以檢討，倒底政客心中所想的，與選民真正要的，倒底差了多少？
